About Us
PGA Plumbing was founded as a partnership between Dean Prohaska and Gary Guerndt in 1994, thus the initials for "Prohaska, Guerndt & Associates". Later in 1994, Gary bought out Dean and went on his own as a sole proprietor. PGA Plumbing was incorporated in January of 1997 with Gary as the sole owner. The Carrier line of products was added in November 2000. Then in June of 2001, at the time of the move into our new building, the name was changed to just PGA Inc. and a "trailer" was added, "Plumbing, Heating, Cooling", to more accurately reflect the services provided. In March of 2005, PGA purchased Resch Heating & Cooling of Hatley, Wisconsin. Then in July of 2005, Bauer Electric & Heating LLC of Wausau was purchased, and following that in May of 2006 MNC Heating & Air Conditioning, LLC of Mosinee was purchased.
Currently we have 41 employees, 10 in the Plumbing Division, 10 in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) Division, 6 in the Electrical Division, 5 in the insulation division, 3 in the Septic/Excavating Division, and an office staff of 7.
PGA Inc. moved into a new shop and office building on Highway 29 East and Zinser Street in Weston, Wisconsin (Wausau area), across from the new Weston Business Technology Park, on June 15, 2001. The building is 13,500 square feet on the lower level, and approximately 4,500 square feet on the upper level.
The business consists of approximately 70% new residential and commercial construction, and 30% service, repairs, replacement, and remodeling. Two plumbing technicians and three HVAC technicians are dedicated to service calls, and others are available as needed.
At PGA we are proud of our employees and help them to obtain as much education as possible in their professions. When you call PGA, you can be sure that you will be dealing with the some of the most trained professional service technicians in the area.
In addition, five of our HVAC staff are “NATE” (North American Technician Excellence, Inc.) certified. NATE develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment by recognizing high quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification. NATE is supported by a broad spectrum of industry representatives including contractors, distributors, educators, manufacturers, technicians and utilities.
